We arrived at De Anza Trails RV Resort and had a good time while there. The owners are new (since October or November of 2008) and are very pleasant. The Camp Hosts - there were three of them, a couple, and two singles, were extremely helpful and very, very friendly and warmly welcomed us. While we were in the office one day, we overheard the owner telling another camper about a deal that he would make them that was not the posted rate. Apparently he likes to deal and dicker with people about their rates. This is not an acceptable action, because each camper there seems to be paying a different rate. Some sixty to a hundred dollars different. When inquiring about winter rates I was given an amount, then when I called there a couple of months later, the rate had increased about thirty dollars and then when getting ready to make my reservations for the winter, the rate had increased even more. This is a wonderful park but I wish they would make up their minds about the prices and then stop raising them or making deals with people on the amount they are charging. The pool is very cloudy but it seems they are having trouble with it and are working on the problem. According to other campers there, they had quite a time with bugs for a while and I even saw scorpions and tarantulas in the building as well as very big cockroaches. We probably would stay there again, but have to really consider the situation. The camp hosts kept the interior of the building immaculate. The bathrooms were very well kept, immaculate also. The toilets had to be flushed several times after use but the fact that they were sparkling clean helps. Kudos to the Camp Hosts and to the owners be glad you have such great people working for you.

My husband and I spent from December to April at Hickiwan and loved every minute of our stay. The sites were clean and sewer, water and electric were adequate. The campground hosts and are absolutely wonderful. They keep the shower immaculate and are extremely caring that your stay is a wonderful experience. The area surrounding the campground is beautiful and makes for good hiking. Lovely cactus and beautiful mountains. They had a Christmas Dinner for the residents as well as a Mardi Gras celebration. At Christmas, the campers and Ray and Marcia got together and did up stockings for the Indian children of the the area. It was fun putting them together and seeing the looks on the children and "elderes" as they received their gifts. What a great place to stay and God bless them for the work they do there and with the Indian communities.
